New Town Complex Purchase Complete

On December 14th 2012 the Town of Berlin completed the purchase of the former Berlin Lumber Company property. The 24.5 Ac parcel contains six structures which will provide space for offices for each department, town hall and highway operations. In addition one half of the most northern structure will be leased to the County Highway Department for equipment storage. The large front field will be utilized by the Taconic Valley soccer league.

The Highway Department was the first to use the facility moving two of the large plow trucks into the two bay heated garage with all of the plows on them. As you can see in the picture the wing plows can actually be laid on the floor.

The next person to move will be the Town Clerk, Anne Maxon, who has housed the Clerk’s Office in her basement for over twenty five years. We thank Anne for her generosity in hosting this Town function at no charge to the residents.

As we progress the additional department moves will be posted on this web site.
